We are proud to inform you that the European Commission has awarded the Seal of Excellence of Horizon 2020, the 2014-2020 Framework Program for Research and Innovation, to OWSKIMMER® project, the first device capable of recovering and pumping microplastics and cleaning up oil spills with maximum efficiency.
This recognition certifies the quality of the proposal developed by SEDOSR (currently in the pre-commercial phase), highlights the positive impact of our solution on the environment and on the blue economy and endorses the project as an innovative idea worth investing in. In response to the criteria of Impact, Excellence, and Quality and efficiency of its implementation, the project has received an overall assessment of 14 points out of 15, comfortably exceeding the threshold of 13 points that is required to pass the excellence threshold.
For us, it is a great stimulus for the final phase of the project and its commercialization, since it gives value to our conviction that new technologies are needed to solve the problem of water pollution, both marine, industrial and civil, and that they must do it in an sustainable way.
This very important support joins those previously received by the Spanish port community, major companies in the petrochemical sector and multinational companies for wastewater treatment as well as public and private oil spill responders.
Rest assured we will continue pushing to make our proprietary OWSKIMMER® technology widely used as the best available technique with which to prevent pollution and remove micro-plastics from our oceans.
